Music City Hit-Makers: The Songs, Their Stories, A Symphony
Nothing represents Nashville better than a songwriter and a musical vision. Music City Hit-Makers are award-winning songwriters that offer acoustic performances of songs they penned for Nashville’s most notable stars, re-imagined for symphony.
Who is the heart and soul of the Music City Hit-Makers? The songwriters themselves. These talented individuals are considered, “the most famous people you’ve never heard of.” The Hit-Makers are Grammy Award winners and nominees with numerous ASCAP, BMI, CMA, and ACM awards under their belts. The songwriters include the likes of Brett James, Tom Douglas, Hillary Lindsey, Chris DeStefano, Wendell Mobley, Jon Nite, Marcus Hummon, Lee Thomas Miller, Rivers Rutherford, Billy Montana, Jessi Alexander, Gordie Sampson, Kyle Jacobs, Troy Verges, Josh Osborne, and The Warren Brothers.
The symphonized songs from the Music City Hit-Makers bring an audience back to the moment they first heard the songwriters’ hits and breathes a new life into those memories. Songs on their wide roster include stand-outs such as Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take the Wheel,” Rascal Flatts’ “Bless the Broken Road,” and Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb." The group of writers featured on the Songs & Symphony EP has a combined seventy-five #1 hits from today’s household names, as well as country music legends and future stars. The songs are arranged for symphony by award-winning music director, Charles Judge. The experienced director arranged and conducted Carrie Underwood’s triumphant performances with the Hollywood Bowl and Ravinia Festival Orchestras as well as Blake Shelton’s “Not-So-Family Christmas Special” on NBC.
Altogether, the show “The Songs, Their Stories, A Symphony” is party storytelling, part comedy, and mostly, unforgettable acoustic symphonic performances of hit songs. Music City Hit-Makers have played over 80 inspiring shows in 25 different states with no signs of slowing down. In addition, their debut EP, Songs & Symphony, was released June 4, 2019 with a performance at City Winery in Nashville, TN and their debut live EP Songs & Symphony Live was released in October of 2019. You can catch one of the Music City Hit-Makers’ unforgettable live performances around Nashville and beyond.

Songs & Symphony Press Release
Nashville, TN (May 7, 2019) - Music City Hit-Makers (MCHM), created by classically trained violinist Charles Dixon, announces the release of their debut EP Songs & Symphony on June 4. The EP features some of Nashville's most successful songwriters including Brett James, Jessi Alexander, Chris DeStefano, Hillary Lindsey, Marcus Hummon and Rivers Rutherford, who have penned hits for Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus and countless other superstars. MCHM, often referred to as "the most famous people you’ve never heard of," features Nashville’s biggest songwriters performing their hits as arranged for a symphony by award-winning studio musician and arranger Charlie Judge.
“Nashville is the epicenter of great songwriting, so the top songwriters in Nashville really are the best in the business,” says Charlie Judge. “It is my incredibly good fortune to have the opportunity to work with these talented writers, both as a keyboardist in the studio recording their hits, and as an arranger re-casting their songs for orchestra.”
The group of writers featured on this project has a combined seventy five #1 hits from today’s superstars as well as country music legends and new artists. Taste of Country, The Boot and Billboard will be providing early listen of select songs prior to release.
“Most of the hit songs we incorporate in our Music City Hit-Makers shows can be heard on country radio,” continues Charlie Judge. “But great songs transcend genre, and they work equally well whether they’re dressed in a cowboy hat or a tuxedo. I find great joy in stripping the songs down to their essence, finding the emotional core, and then rebuilding them with the endlessly inspiring orchestral palette.”
To celebrate the release of Songs & Symphony, MCHM’s Chris DeStefano, Rivers Rutherford and Marcus Hummon will be performing on June 4 at City Winery in Nashville.
