American Songwriter
“There are a few ‘traditional’ avenues I’ve been rebelling against for my adult life,” Teri Bracken told American Songwriter.
Bracken is the songwriter and spearhead of the Nashville-based Americana band Brontë Fall. On Monday, they released their newest single, “Freeway High,” off their forthcoming EP Finishing School. With a background in literature and classical music, Bracken’s nod to the Brontë sisters in her band’s name encapsulates her wider philosophy regarding art.
Broadway World
Brontë Fall, the songwriting pen name of classically trained multi-instrumentalist Teri Bracken, embodies the spirit a centuries-old push by the Brontë sisters to have their-and all women's-voices heard. Within her sophomore effort, Finishing School, Bracken embraces Charlotte, Emily, and Anne's fight against the ever-evolving societal restraint on women; at times with a sword and armor and at times with words and ideas.
Tinnitist
Khruangbin try to remember, Zebediah Crowe get your goat, Matt Lovell has trouble, Brontë Fall rides high and more in today’s Roundup. Now, if you’ll permit me a wee rant: Since I am hardly a technically perfect writer, I try to resist grammar policing others. Glass houses and all, you know? But even I have my limits: I am officially fed up with receiving, reading and rewriting press releases that announce some band “is releasing their video.”

Within her sophomore effort, Finishing School, Bracken embraces Charlotte, Emily, and Anne’s fight against the ever-evolving societal restraint on women; at times with a sword and armor and at times with words and ideas. Available everywhere August 21, Finishing School features six songs that find Bracken growing beyond her roots in orchestral music with a broadening of influences and cross-genre songwriting.
UnHinged
“The feel of the sun on my face and my hair whipping in the wind—it put me right back to the summer after 4th grade, in the back of my best friend's red convertible on the way to the pool,” recalls Bracken. “It was such a liberating few hours for me. I needed that time to relax and breathe. I believe that my repertoire needed a song of letting go as well. I don’t have enough of them.”
Steve Rivers Introduces Us To His New Single “The Wheel Goes ‘Round”
Canadian country artist Steve Rivers has released a brand new single “The Wheel Goes ‘Round”. It’s a great song and we had the chance to connect with him to talk about it.
Steve Rivers is a country music singer/songwriter who has worked with so many of your favourite Canadian artists. From Chris Buck Band, The Kennedy Sisters, Jesse Slack, and countless others.
“The Wheel Goes ‘Round” is a great song that pays tribute to blue-collar towns of the heartland. It’s a reflection of where Rivers grew up and the sounds he was raised on.

When Teri Bracken, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who makes music under the literary moniker Brontë Fall, was in college, a man told her that some women treat college as a “finishing school” for finding husbands. The term angered her but also inspired her to show her listeners a different form of “finishing school” with an EP by that name.
Stitched Sound
Classically trained multi-instrumentalist Teri Bracken, who goes by the songwriting name Brontë Fall, will be releasing her latest album Finishing School next month. Inspired by the Brontë sisters-Emily, Anne and Charlotte-and their fight to amplify the voices of women, she embraces their fight against the ever-evolving societal restraint on women. Deriving her songwriting name from her love of the Brontë sisters and Emily Brontë’s poem ‘Fall, Leaves, Fall’, Bracken views her music as a way to embrace the changing seasons of her life and express herself through her art.
