2022 details & Nominations

We host our annual awards each year with two very important goals in mind. The first and foremost is to take a moment to celebrate the talent within our community. Zero To 60 is an open door program which means artists of any level of talent can work with a team member to grow their craft and career to new levels. Since talent is and always will be the primary catalyst to success in the music business, it’s important to highlight those who have put in the time and energy to grow their talent to meaningful levels. For those who are still developing their talent, our annual awards will serve as inspiration and motivation to reach new levels in their craft for future projects.

Our second goal and the foundation of our service is to educate artists on how talent is reviewed by industry professionals. Understanding the differences between Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year will help an artist to focus their goals in a direction that is best suited to their talent development. Through these awards we hope our community can find direction for where they hope to receive recognition from the industry at large.

Each artist who has completed a campaign within the calendar year is eligible for the awards. Nominations are conducted by the AGD Community and our Preferred Partners. Artists can nominate themselves in the top three categories but they must also submit a nomination for an additional artist within the community. Each artists may invite 5 affiliates to submit nominations. Affiliates can be songwriters, producers, team members (including AGD staff), family, fans or friends.

After nominations are received from our community, AGD will select a panel of judges from within the music industry (Label A&R, Publishers, Agents, Talent Buyers, Radio etc) who will select winners based on a predetermined criteria.

Award Categories:

Song Of The Year

An award for the composition/writing of the song itself. Judges will be considering the lyrics, melody, hooks and relatable themes when selecting a winner. The award is presented to the writers of the song rather than solely to the artist.

Record Of The Year

An award given for the sound recording of a single composition. Judges will primarily consider the artist's performance along with the production elements that brought the song to life. While the reception and commercial reaction to the recoding will always contribute in some part, selecting a winner for Record Of The Year will primarily be based on the talent represented within the sound recording itself.

Album Of The Year

An award for the best songs and recordings released together in one collection. For our awards this will include EP releases, though other awards will often reserve the award for full LP’s. Judges will be considering each song composition and sound recording individually along with how they work together for the listener experience. Artwork, visual projects, and commercial reception will contribute to the judges perception of the album.

Video Of The Year

An award for the artist and visual team that brought the “vibe” to life. Judges will consider the overall theme of the video, quality or creativity of the production along with it's representation of the artist's brand as a whole. Commercial reception of the video will also be considered.

Artwork Of The Year

An award that celebrates the extension of the artists vision beyond the music and often the listeners “First Impression”. Judges will consider the way in which the artwork compares to the music itself and brings the listener into the experience.

Entertainer Of The Year

An award for the artist who showed extraordinary talent across all aspects of their career. Judges will be considering all content pieces, live performances, audience engagement, partnerships, press and industry buzz when reviewing nominees.

Excellence Award

An award presented to the artist(s) who best represent the ethos of the Zero To 60 community. This award is selected by AGD team members and is not voted on by the judges.

Zero To 60 Achievement Award

An award for Zero To 60 alumni (artists who have completed at least one previous campaign) who have gone on to achieve notable benchmarks in their career. This award is selected by AGD President and Co-Founder Nathan Dohse and not voted on by the judges.

Zero To 60 Preferred Partner Of The Year

An award for the partner or service provider who brought the most value to the artist community. This award is selected by Zero To 60 Artists and is not voted on by the judges.

Zero To 60 Inspiration Award

An award for the emerging artist who inspired our community to push through the difficult times and reach higher levels of talent and achievement, especially in the face of adversity. This award is selected by Zero To 60 Artists and the AGD Outreach Committee and is not voted on by the judges.
